I’ll admit it, for years I hated electric shavers because they never seemed to give me the kind of smooth, close shave I was looking for. But now that they’ve improved dramatically, I find myself using them exclusively. But there’s one problem: many of them still suck! I’ve been through dozens of makes and models from Braun, Panasonic, Remington and others before finally settling on the Philips Norelco 1250cc/42 SensoTouch 3d Electric Shaver with Jet Clean System.

Today I’m going to share my review with you on how it’s worked for me over the past few months, but first let’s check out the specs.

The Philips Norelco 1250cc/42 is a wet/dry shaver that features the patented sensotouch 3D system, which, when combined with the ultra-track heads and skin glide technology, delivers a smooth, comfortable shave each and every time. Its gyro flex 3D design seamlessly adjusts to every curve of your face and neck by pivoting, tilting and flexing, which minimizes skin irritation and pressure.

The ultra-track heads also feature a unique design that incorporates channels to catch longer hairs, slots to catch the normal hairs and holes to catch any short stubble. This means far fewer shaving strokes than competing models. This shaver also features a convenient jet clean system that recharges, lubricates and cleans the razor so that it’s ready when you are.

My Experience with the Philips Norelco 1250cc/42 SensoTouch 3d Electric Shaver

Okay, now all of that sounds great on paper, but what you’re really wondering is whether or not this thing actually works? The answer is yes! I’ve been through tons of electric rotary razors, so I have a very good understanding of how well different makes and models perform, and the Philips Norelco 1250cc/42 definitely comes out on top.

This has been my exclusive razor for the past month and I couldn’t be happier with the results. And this is a pretty big deal because I consider myself to be a foil shaver kinda guy. I’ve never really gotten into rotary shavers until I’ve started using the Philips Norelco 1250cc.

I love being able to use it in the shower too because personally I feel like I get a closer shave when my face is wet or lathered up. That being said, it still delivers a very clean shave even on a dry face if I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to shower or break out the shaving cream. I also love the recharging and cleaning station – I can just pop it in there after using it and let it do its thing. The next morning it’s clean, recharged and ready to rock and roll.

Cons

Kinda hard to see what you’re doing with the pop-out trimmer because the shaver head is so large

The Bottom Line

I’m very selective when it comes to recommending products, especially to family or close buddies but I would have no problems at all recommending the Philips Norelco 1250cc/42 to any guy, or anyone who has a guy in their lives that needs a reliable electric shaver that gets the job done right. Once you try this model out, you’ll never go back to a regular razor again, trust me.
