And on the whole, I must say, I love this thing! It feels of surprisingly good quality despite the low price and is very comfortable to hold. As far as the overall shave goes, it’s very, very close. It’s not quite as close as a regular manual blade, but it’s not far off. It’s perfectly acceptable. The actual shave time is incredibly quick as it generally cuts all the hair with one pass. I’m very happy on that front.
One thing I’ve always had a problem with, is cutting the hair on my neck. I haven’t owned one single electric razor that has effectively been able to tackle this hair, at least not without a lot of irritation. That being the case, you can imagine my delight when the 7310XL handled it with no problem! While different models are no doubt better for different people and personal preference obviously plays a part, the fact is, this cheaper model offered me the best results by far.
The motor is very quiet, so it’s no issue using it early in the morning and waking the neighbors. However, my favorite thing – apart from the actually quality of shave – has to be the ease of cleaning. I’ve used electric razors in the past, including rotary blades, and none have been as easy to clean as this. With the 7310XL, you just flip the blade section up, give it a rinse under the tap, then let it dry. It couldn’t be easier.
The only thing I really don’t like is the time it takes to charge it. It takes a good 8 hours to take it from completely dead to fully charged, which is the recommended way of doing it, and it doesn’t have a quick charge option. It’s not a deal breaker, but a little annoyance. You can use it while it’s plugged into the wall, so as long as you’ve got a socket near where you use it then you won’t get caught out. It also doesn’t indicate the level of the battery life in anyway, but for the price, you can’t really argue with that.
Here’s a summary of the 7310XL:
Pros:
- Extremely close shave
- Very quick shave
- Easy to clean
- Comfortable to hold and use
- Good, solid build quality
- Very quiet motor
- Very affordable price
Cons:
- Long charging time (8 hours) with no quick charge option
- No battery life indication
All in all, for the price of this shaver, I am exceptionally impressed. It far outweighs the more expensive models I’ve used in the past and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. For a generally good, effective rotary razor that gives an amazing cut, the 7310XL is the answer. Highly recommended.
