As a gadget fan, I try to keep up to date on the fancy new technologies out there, especially when it comes to personal care. I don’t mind forking out extra to try something new and shiny as long as it performs as expected. I’ve tried a lot of the new electric shavers released in 2010 and the Panasonic ES-LA93-K Vortex Men’s Shaver definitely stands out as the best shaver of the year. Produced and assembled in Japan, the Panasonic Vortex shaver isn’t cheap but boy, does it deliver a great shave.

I’ve been using the Philips Norelco 7810XL Men’s Shaving System for over a year and I think it deserves a little review so here I am. I’ve been through quite a few electric shavers over the years, and now I believe I’ve finally found one that’s as close to perfect as I’m ever going to get. I’ll go over the specs for this model very quickly and then share my thoughts after having used this as my daily shaver for the past few months.

My wife is kind of tired of hearing me rave about electric shavers and particularly about this Braun shaver, which is a quite a triumph of engineering. I’ve owned this beauty for about six months now and below I’m going to go over the specs real quickly before detailing my experiences with the Braun Series 7- 790cc Pulsonic Shaver thus far.

Remington is a brand I’ve always fancied but haven’t used too much because of the excellent Philips and Braun shavers out there. I decided to try the Remington MS2-390 Micro screen Men’s Shaver for a few months and write a review about it. I’ve been shaving for about 20 years now and I’ve gone through quite a few models in that time, but this one beats them all hands down. Below I’ll quickly go over the specs and share my experience so far with this beauty.

The Panasonic ES8249K Arc IV Nano Vortex Wet/Dry Shaving System really is a system. With most electric trimmers or razors you simply get the shaving device and a few accessories, but the ES8249K really is an impressive piece of kit. I thought I’d splash out this time around and get a high end razor with a cleaning station and everything. It’s obviously that bit more expensive but I thought, provided it does what it is designed to do, that it would be worth it.

My relationship with the  Panasonic ES8243A Arc IV Nano Men’s Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaver is one of love and pleasure. I first met this charming electric shaver two years ago in 2008 when it was first released. It was a Christmas gift from my wife and I remember fondly my first thoughts of holding it. The soft calming blue rubberized grip easing into my hands while the shaver stared at me, looking proud and competent at the same time.

I quite like the particular design of the Philips Norelco Speed 8240XL Men’s Shaving System, and it’s certainly unique to Philips. I’d used an older Norelco a few years back and found it “okay”, but had since switched back to the regular water and razor. But, a few years had passed and I could see that changes were coming about so I thought I’d give the electric razor another shot!

The Philips Norelco HS8420 Nivea for Men Razor is actually the exact sort of thing I’d usually neglect as a gimmick, what with it’s built in lotion dispenser that you have to refill continuously. But, shaving has never really been a pleasurable experience for me and always more of a chore, so I thought “what the heck”, may be this is exactly what I need!

After trying some complex shavers with lots of bells and whistles, I decided I wanted something a little simpler.  The Philips Norelco 6940 Reflex Action Men’s Shaving System definitely fit the bill.  The price was right, but at the same time I’ve been getting a fantastic shave from it.  Its patented Reflex Action System adjusts to the shape of my face, while its Super Lift and Cut Technology shaves below skin level.

The Philips Norelco 7310XL Men’s Shaving System is surprisingly affordable for a razor of this design, so I almost wasn’t really expecting much when I bought it. Never the less, it was still an actual Philips model, so I knew it had potential.

And on the whole, I must say, I love this thing! It feels of surprisingly good quality despite the low price and is very comfortable to hold. As far as the overall shave goes, it’s very, very close. It’s not quite as close as a regular manual blade, but it’s not far off. It’s perfectly acceptable. The actual shave time is incredibly quick as it generally cuts all the hair with one pass. I’m very happy on that front.
